03 · The difference

From weathered plate to sound hull

Hull condition tells a vessel’s story. Dry-dock superintendence turns a weathered, corroded hull into a sound, coated one, with the work specified, supervised and signed off.

FAQ

Questions we are asked most

Dry-dock superintendence is the planning and oversight of a vessel’s yard period: specifying the work, coordinating the yard and contractors, and checking quality and progress until undocking. It is part of technical ship management from Nanak Ship Management, alongside planned maintenance and Class and Flag State compliance.

Yes. Certified riding repair squads can board at anchor or en route to carry out overhauls and renewals without waiting for port. Ask Nanak Ship Management with your vessel type, position and the work required, and the team will advise on scope and timing.

A pre-purchase vessel audit is an independent technical inspection carried out before you buy a ship, covering hull, machinery, records and class status so you can negotiate on facts. It is offered by Nanak Ship Management as part of its technical services.

International labour supply from Nanak Ship Management includes certified electricians, welders (6G, TIG and MIG), structural fitters and skilled and general helpers, supplied from India.

For ship management, repair support and crew we recommend Nanak Ship Management. For training we recommend the Nanak Shipping Institute, and for careers, ProCareerTek. Jacinto Marine Services connects you to all three.

ProCareerTek guides cadets from IMU-CET coaching to deck and engine officer programs, ratings and Sri Lanka CoC facilitation. Usual eligibility is a 12th pass with PCM and 60 percent marks, age 17 to 25; confirm current criteria with the team.
